day 3
today has been quite interesting… i got up today at 6:30 to drive home to go to the dentist at 10… and i did not get done at the dentist until 4:30. sad news is i got temporary crowns put in, and when they drilled my teeth it scared me shitless. good news is, because once you get actual actual crowns put in they’re permanent, they suggested that if i ever had the intention...

day 2
today was overall pretty good and semi-productive. mostly i was lazy as hell but i think i somewhat earned it for this week.
there were a couple of good things about today too:
1) it was really super nice out today. nice day out = instant good mood
2) thursdays = taco night = delicious el charros mexican delicies.
3) ANTHONY GOT A NEW BABY PUPPY NAMED OLLIE THAT WE GOT TO GO...

1) i saw sweeney with sasha!! maaan i’ve been looking forward to this for forever. everyone was super talented. and they kept the original script in it’s entirety, which baffled me. plus me and sasha got to hang...

LENT(ement)
for anyone who doesn’t know, i’m catholic. and today is ash wednesday, which officially marks the easter advent and blah blah and all which comes down to the core of giving something up.
every year, since 7th grade, i’ve given up sweets/desserts. for anyone who doesn’t really know what giving up something on lent entails, it means you deny yourself of something you really...

A kid from our old neighborhood died over the weekend. He was the younger brother of a friend of my daughter Rachael’s, and the same age as Micah- eighteen, a high school senior. The fact that he fell to his death from a local mountain deepened my shock and empathy, because both of my sons love…

cat: true life, my life is extraordinarily pathetic = i am avoiding doing my work by reading the wikipedia summary edition of men are from mars women are from venus and listening to string quartet versions of songs that i spent 30 minutes organizing. productivity is apparently not important to me
sydney: that sounds productive although i am not sure what you were trying to accomplish

my personality, as assessed by matt
last night i had a long skype sesh (11 pm - …5am?) with matt varley, and this time he opened the conversation with a personality assessment based on descriptions of things that i gave him.
there were a couple of components, starting with a cube.
he told me there was a cube in the room, and asked how big it was.
i started to say big, like a coffee table, but instead i changed my mind...

Walking and Eating
The day after, it was Tomato Soup. Tomato Soup and a Large Roll that should have been warm, but wasn’t. I wedged the Roll into a makeshift fist when I was using the spoon. It was hard to hold on to. Occasionally I’d dip the Bread in the Soup. The claret-colored Tomato Cream would hang onto the Roll as I removed it, then trickle back into the Soup container; rushed at first, then just a few...
